Rambus Ecebs & Penrillian team up on Smartard & App Solutions for the Transport Industry
Rambus Ecebs are delighted to announce the signing of a teaming agreement with Penrillian to enable the delivery of a new mobile solution to the transport ticketing market.
The agreement combines the two firms’ complementary technologies and cultures as they collaborate to deliver a fresh and flexible approach to transport operators, making travel simpler and quicker.
Under the terms of the agreement, Penrillian becomes Rambus Ecebs preferred ITSO Part 11 provider for its white-label Voyager app, which enables users to plan, purchase, download and top-up tickets and passes for public transport directly to a smartcard via their mobile device.
Rambus Ecebs is a market leader in smart technology, having developed the software at the heart of many existing smart ticketing systems. Penrillian is one of the world’s longest-established mobile developers, and its experience in the mobile payments domain created a natural fit for this joint offering.
Penrillian CEO Joanne Thompson says:
“Our development team benefited from the first-class support of the Rambus Ecebs technical team, so the integration process was very smooth and has allowed us to deliver ITSO compliance exceptionally quickly.”
Russell McCullagh, Managing Director at Rambus Ecebs, adds:
“Penrillian has proven to be an excellent partner in terms of its technical ability and professionalism in creating a simple-to-use yet powerful ticketing system for the ever increasing online market. I am delighted to welcome Penrillian to our growing Paragon RTD (Remote Ticket Download) Enabler Programme.”
Joanne Thompson concludes:
“While integration with Rambus Ecebs RTD enables additional new ticketing opportunities for Penrillian, we expect Penrillian to provide Rambus Ecebs with the established skills to deliver the mobile applications that the market needs – both today and in the future.”
