Also denies motion to transfer Delaware action to California
Los Altos, California, United States – 03/29/2006
At a hearing today, the Federal District Court for the District of Delaware issued two rulings regarding where certain patent and other related disputes between Rambus (Nasdaq:RMBS) and Micron are to be decided. In its first ruling, the court granted a motion by Rambus and issued an injunction against Micron’s further prosecution of a newly-filed Virginia lawsuit against Rambus. The Delaware court ruled that Micron’s allegations could not be pursued in Virginia given the overlap of those allegations with a prior Delaware action filed in August 2000 by Micron.
In its second ruling today, the Delaware court denied a motion by Rambus seeking to transfer the pending Delaware case to California. Neither ruling affects other pending patent or antitrust cases in California by Rambus against Micron.
